While we had our doubts at first, Link turns out to be a welcome member of the Soul Calibur cast. Selectable from the start in the versus mode of the version that we played were 15 characters, including: Maxi, Talim, Ivy, Cassandra, Nightmare, Xianghua, Astaroth, Voldo, Necrid, Raphael, Yunsung, Mitsurugi, Necrid and, of course, Link. The C-stick should end up being one of the GCN version's biggest benefits, as it just screams out at you to be used. The GameCube version of Soul Calibur 2 looks, as far as we can tell, exactly like the arcade version.
